Clovis Concrete Crew handles concrete removal and haul-away across Clovis, from a single cracked walkway to a full driveway, an old pool deck, or a backyard slab that's in the way of a new project. We break it out, load it, and haul it to a recycler, and if you're replacing it, the same crew can pour the new concrete.

What We Remove
- Driveways and driveway approaches
- Patios and old slabs under shade covers
- Pool decks and coping, including decks around pools being remodeled or filled in
- Walkways, steps, and side-yard paths
- Shed slabs, old RV pads, and sport courts
- Footings and short walls
- Lawn-to-landscape conversions where concrete borders and mow strips have to go
How Concrete Removal Works
1. Walkthrough and plan
We look at thickness, whether the slab has rebar or mesh, how close it is to the house, the pool, and underground lines, and how the equipment gets in. Side-yard gates and narrow access change the approach.
2. Utility marking
We call USA North 811 to mark buried lines. Irrigation lines and low-voltage lighting are common in Clovis backyards, so we also ask you where yours run.
3. Saw cutting
Where only part of a slab comes out, or where concrete meets a foundation, sidewalk, or pool, we saw-cut a clean line first so nothing we want to keep gets damaged.
4. Breaking
Depending on size and access, we use a jackhammer, a walk-behind breaker, or a skid steer or mini excavator with a hammer attachment. Rebar and mesh are cut as we go.
5. Loading and hauling
Broken concrete is loaded into a dump trailer or bin and taken to a concrete recycler, where it's crushed for reuse as base material. It doesn't go to a landfill.
6. Site cleanup
We rake and grade the area so it's ready for the next step, whether that's new concrete, pavers, turf, or planting.
Things That Change the Job
Thickness and steel
A 4 inch walkway breaks quickly. A 6 inch reinforced RV pad or a thickened driveway apron takes heavier equipment and more time.
Access
A wide-open front driveway is simple. A backyard patio behind a narrow side gate may need smaller equipment and wheelbarrow loading.
Hardpan and old base
Under some Clovis slabs we find the cemented hardpan close to the surface or old base that's been compacted for decades. If we're pouring new concrete, we grade and recompact what's left so the new slab starts right.
Right-of-way work
Removing a driveway approach or a section of public sidewalk in Clovis falls under the City's encroachment permit process, and the replacement has to meet City of Clovis Standard Specifications. We handle that paperwork when the work includes the right-of-way.
Removal Plus Replacement
Most removal jobs end in new concrete. Doing both with one crew keeps the schedule tight: tear-out, base prep, forms, and pour can happen within days instead of waiting for two contractors to coordinate. See concrete driveways, pool decks, and patios.
